Pagination nightmare Somebody please save me!!

I finally figured out how to create a separate section for Chapter 1. Now, when I try to insert the page numbers, it will not post the number on the upper right hand corner, only the left hand corner even though I click the word "right". The numbers do start at 1, though. Also, when the numbers do show up on the left hand side on Chapter 1, they also show up in the TOC and abstract (I do not want any numbers there at this time).
