Summer 2008 RROD

This is a discussion on Summer 2008 RROD within the xbox forums in Other Technologies category; Okay Summer is here and so are more RROD Problems on many systems due to heat. It truly amazes me to still see videos of Systems being "REPAIRED" and failing again . I personally think when you return a Broken console they just bandaid the problem by either reseating the heatsink or replacing the thermal compound instead of replacing it with a new unit with new PARTS. New MB, HEATSINKS, FANS, AND Cooler CPU,GPU. So MS Will be having this RROD Problem forever if they keep rotating inventory like they are doing. Anyone getting back a repaired unit should simply ...

Default Summer 2008 RROD

Okay Summer is here and so are more RROD Problems on many systems due
to heat.
It truly amazes me to still see videos of Systems being "REPAIRED"
and failing again .
I personally think when you return a Broken console they just bandaid
the problem by either reseating the heatsink or replacing the thermal
compound instead of replacing it with a new unit with new PARTS. New
MB, HEATSINKS, FANS, AND Cooler CPU,GPU.
So MS Will be having this RROD Problem forever if they keep rotating
inventory like they are doing. Anyone getting back a repaired unit
should simply look on the back at MANUFACTURE DATE: And prepare to be
amazed!
How to avoid this mess? Sell your broken system on Ebay and go buy a
unit and look at the back where it shows manufacture date: If you see
MANUFACTURE DATE JUNE 2008 < Its just been built and probably has new
cpu,gpu , extra heatsinks and fans.

Not forever. Eventually, the 360 will fall out of warranty. The tech I spoke
to told me 3 years for video card blowouts. After that, you're #$%? out of
luck.

The 360 Elite has better hardware, I'm told. So only the 1st Gen 360's risk
hitting a brick wall someday.

well the 360 may have better hardware but mine just blew out not too long ago
so they are not completely out of harms way
