| I fired up the 360 tonight and saw a "Rock the Vote" promo. When I clicked, I saw that there are only two choices, McCain and Obama. My state ballot (and 37 others at the moment) also lists Bob Barr. Since I'm familiar with the sort of voter domestication associated with Rock the Vote activities around our local campuses, I wasn't surprised that only two of the choices would be given. I was a little surprised that MS would provide a platform for such one-sided political propaganda. There are quite a few people in the race to become the next US president: http://politicsone.com/p2008.htm It'd be best if the content were updated to allow people to show support for the people on their ballots though. |

You DO realize that 'rock the vote' is mainly endorsed by celebrities who can barely count past the number "2" - much less tell you who was running for president unless you already told them. As for the list of candidates - that's not Microsoft's fault. That list came from Rock The Vote. If anyone deserves your anger, it's them, not Microsoft. -- It's not broken. It's...advanced. |

I really don't think they (MS) are trying to sway the votes one way or another. This has gotten slightly off-topic. :-) BTW, long time no see Neb. |

| Besides, our nation has generally moved to a bipartisan system. The other parties (Green, Independant, Libertarian, etc.) don't have the clout that they used to. And I would go as far as saying that the general public doesn't know about anything but Dems and Reps anyway. -- IT Analyst Mid-States Aluminum "liquid" wrote: > > "Neb Okla" <n_okla@hotmail.com> wrote in message > news:A66AAD6F-FFF8-4B4D-8E89-CE0431F4EF01@microsoft.com... > >I fired up the 360 tonight and saw a "Rock the Vote" promo. > > <Snipped for brevity.> > > At the very least all that means is more young/lazy/unaware people have the > opportunity to register. Tonight I signed in to Xbox Live, flipped to Marketplace, found the themes and gamerpics section and scrolled down to "Rock the Vote". Turns out we finally have some minor party options! So log-on and download your "Libertarian Party" and "Green Party" gamerpics now (Preferably the libertarian one)! ![]() |
